After the Fire
After the Fire explores the quiet landscape that remains once intensity has passed. Charred blacks and deep neutrals anchor the composition, while passages of rusted orange move across the surface like remnants of heat and motion.
The painting is built through layered acrylic applications, allowing textures to emerge and recede across the panel. Areas of abrasion, heavy brushwork, and scraped pigment create a surface that feels weathered and physical, suggesting both destruction and renewal.
Rather than depicting a literal scene, the work evokes the emotional atmosphere that follows upheaval — the stillness, the residue, and the gradual return of structure.
